Living Beyond The Written Pages

As Christians, we’re the first examples of the life we’ve received in Christ to the people around us. It’s not enough for us to preach and teach from the Word; we are living epistles of the Gospel and our lives must radiate the glory of God’s Word in us, to those around us.

The prophets wrote so much about the Messiah, and Jesus fulfilled every single prophecy – He lived beyond the written pages of the books. The Word goes beyond the letters; it’s meant to be alive and to minister life to people. This was why God wasn’t pleased with the scribes, pharisees and doctors of the Law. They didn’t practice what they preached and there was no life in what they taught. When Jesus picked up the same Scriptures these folks taught, the words leapt out of the books, so much so that many people were amazed at His doctrine and testified that He spoke as one with authority (Mark 1:22). Jesus showed God alive in His days on earth; so did the apostles, and their works recorded in the Scriptures are a testimony.

Reveal the Lord in you to your world today. Let the Word so dominate you that your life becomes a living epistle!

"Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."
-2 Corinthians 3:6

"WWJD"..... Do you remember when this saying came out? "What Would Jesus Do?" It is a very simple way to put things into perspective. Our life should be modeled as closely to Jesus' as possible and our love for Him should be more evident than any outwardly appearance. Let you love for Him be your guide and your decision maker. Treat others the way you want to be treated and definitely with unconditional love the way Jesus did! God Bless You!

Wow. Live beyond the written pages. Don't just know the word, live it, express it, show it, do it. To God be the glory, we are living epistles.
